Who We Are
Nas Recovery Centre (NRC) is a community-based Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) and Mental Health treatment service established in the year 2023. NRC provides evidence-based trauma- and culturally-informed alcohol and other drug interventions to members of the African-Australian community.
We provide comprehensive assessment and intake service, education, information, and advocacy to consumers who present with substance use disorders and associated mental health challenges.

What We Do
Our commitment is to the individual struggling with substance abuse as well as his or her family. We will you guide through the entire recovery process and provide you complementary services including intake and assessment to match your needs, referrals, education, treatment planning, group therapy intervention, community detox, transport to programs, and monitoring of your progress. HOW WE HELP
Therapy is the most important part of addiction treatment. Here are some types of therapy for us to offer you to achieve your goals.
Cognitive behavioral therapy : Where you will learn to strengthen your mental health, identify triggers for drug use, and develop healthy coping skills
Motivational interviewing : Where you will learn to improve your motivation to stay sober
Ecotherapy : You will have opportunity to participate in evidence based approaches to promote your healing and wellness.
Contingency management: If you have FINES we will support you in becoming DEBT FREE through our ACCREDITED programs.
Family therapy: Where you and your family members will learn more about your addiction and how to support your recovery.
Group therapy: We offer free, safe, nonjudgmental group therapy, where you can learn important recovery skills alongside other people facing addiction.
Aftercare Planning & Continuum Care: Your Case worker will help you design a personalised aftercare plan so you can maintain recovery from all of your mental health issues. Depending on your needs, your plan may include services such as ongoing therapy and support groups wellness activities like meditation, fitness with PT, yoga, and assistance with employment and housing, legal and advocacy.
Family therapy: Where you and your family members will learn more about your addiction and how to support your recovery.
Group therapy: We offer free, safe, nonjudgmental group therapy, where you can learn important recovery skills alongside other people facing addiction.
Aftercare Planning & Continuum Care: Your Case worker will help you design a personalised aftercare plan so you can maintain recovery from all of your mental health issues.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL TREATMENT
Path2home is an eight-week intensive outpatient day program that clients attend for 4 hours per day, 3 days per week. Additionally, the program offers a range of therapeutic cultural and social events to assist consumers to re integrate with their community in healthy ways.
The program offers evidence-based harm reduction, relapse prevention, psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing- and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-based approaches to substance use disorder treatment that are rolled out over an eight-week period. Each week is devoted to a different aspect of recovery, including one relating to issues of financial hardship and responsible use of funds.
HOME DETOX SUPPORT
Home detox is the process of safely withdrawing a dependent drinker from alcohol without admission to an inpatient unit.
HOW TO DO A HOME DETOXD DETOX
1. Contact us for consultation and intake and complete some screening questionnaire
2. Visit GP, and obtain some baseline observations and blood tests.
3. Daily review by a GP or nurse is important for at least the first four days.
4. Attend Path2home for ongoing psychosocial support, THIS IS essential for recovery.
Care & Recovery
Following detox, we offer a structured aftercare program essential for long-term recovery and for patients to achieve their agreed treatment goals. GP review, counseling, and attending support.
For Caution. a person may not be suitable for home detox. This Includes:
1. Not having access to a support person and safe housing for the first few days
2. A history of withdrawal seizures or delirium
3. Problematic drug use
4. Suicidality
5. Serious illness.

FAMILY SUPPORT
When dealing with the addiction of someone close to you, you become used to living on a roller coaster. You will try everything to stop your addicted loved one from using but alone you are left exhausted and disappointed.
We provide free support for families, friends, and carers. We provide information, advice, advocacy, and education to empower families impacted by loved one’s drug use and mental illness.

Our program offers support for young people aged 15 yrs and older involved with criminal justice.
Participants are offered the opportunity to connect with positive role models and mentors within the community
to work with them in developing life skills, and build engagement with school, activities, and increase community
participation.
